A Romantic Walk in the Mumbai Rain
They had only one umbrella, but neither of them minded the downpour. As the neon lights of Mumbai reflected in the puddles, Rohan stopped. He looked into Priya's eyes, and without saying a word, she knew this rainy evening would change their lives forever.
The monsoon had arrived late that year, catching the city off guard. Priya had been standing outside the café for twenty minutes, watching strangers run for cover, when she heard a familiar voice behind her.

"Still afraid of getting wet?" Rohan smiled, holding a small yellow umbrella over her head.
She laughed. The kind of laugh that comes from a place you forgot existed.
They walked through Bandra's winding lanes, their shoulders touching under the tiny umbrella, rain spilling onto both of them equally. Neither moved away. The city moved around them like a river around two still stones — rickshaws honking, tea stalls steaming, Bollywood songs drifting from somewhere up above.
At the sea face, Rohan stopped. The waves were angry and beautiful. He turned to her.
"I've been trying to find the right moment for a year," he said.
Priya already knew what was coming. She had known since the café.
"You don't need a moment," she whispered. "You just needed the rain."
And there, soaking wet, laughing and crying at the same time, they kissed for the first time — with all of Mumbai watching and no one seeing at all.
